Dance is the post-lockdown party we all need. Celebratory, funky, fresh; the track references Off The Wall-era MJ as well as nu-disco bangers. The accompanying music video features Columbian dancer/actress Lotty Guerra.
In 2020 Rudi released Through The Night. Written in Italy with Scandinavian songstress Amanda Thomsen aka AYA MAI, the track is an infectious pop banger celebrating spontaneity. The Remixes EP followed in 2021 featuring PATAWAWA. Rudi has since gained over 15,000 Spotify streams, & support from DJ Mag ES.
Rudi has performed at venues such as Rough Trade, Rock City, Umbria Jazz Festival (Italy) & BBC One Television (UK). Rudi supported PATAWAWA on their 2020 Cosmic Disco Tour (pre-pandemic). In June 2021 he returned to performing live with a sold-out show at The Chapel, Nottingham.
Rudi’s 2019 debut EP Diamond is an ‘unmistakable invitation to the dance floor: nostalgic but feeling anything but dated’. The disco-funk-inspired EP gained support from BBC Introducing with Rudi selected as Artist of the Week in April.
The need for us to escape everyday life is a common theme in Rudi’s writing, perhaps even more prevalent in today’s world.
